OUR MISSON

The ORCAS Society of BC exists to support, address, and advocate for the safety of the Autism community by fostering positive, informed, and respectful interactions between autistic individuals and first responders. We work to reduce and eliminate harm, particularly in police interactions. Through Education, Collaboration, and Community Engagement, we will achieve our Mission.

OUR VISION

Our vision is a community where individuals with Autism are recognized, accepted, and treated fairly by emergency services, the justice system, and healthcare. Where they are understood and treated equally by the services they rely on to stay safe and live their daily lives.

We are proudly founded and led by an individual with Autism. Our leadership, programs, and advocacy are shaped by lived experience, honoring autistic knowledge, autonomy, and diversity.

We live by the motto: “Nothing about us without us.” Our organization is built and guided by people with Autism, ensuring authenticity, accountability, and meaningful impact for the Autism community.

Founded in Canada, we build strong partnerships with Canadian companies and local businesses. Working locally allows us to bring a deep understanding of the needs of the autism community in Canada, especially in British Columbia, where we are based.
